Bareilly-Based Cousins Arrested For Supplying Heroin In Delhi

New Delhi:

Two cousins have been arrested from east Delhi’s Gazipur space for allegedly supplying heroin within the nationwide capital, police stated on Wednesday.

The accused have been recognized as Sajid Khan (24), and Wajid Khan (28), each residents of Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh, they stated.

One kg heroin price round Rs 2 crore in worldwide market has been seized from their possession, police stated.

“On July 13, police got information that two persons, involved in the supply of heroin, would come near Shamshan Ghat, Gazipur to supply the contraband. Thereafter, a trap was laid and the accused were apprehended with two parcels of heroin,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Chinmoy Biswal stated.

During interrogation, the accused individuals disclosed that they have been cousins and concerned in drug trafficking for the final 5 to 6 years. In 2016, they have been caught by the UP police, the DCP stated.

The accused additional advised police that they have been consultants in making heroin through the use of crude materials and chemical compounds. They used to buy the crude (poppy head extracts) and chemical from Bareilly and manufacture the heroin, police stated.

Further investigation is underway, they added.
